Exploring everything from how we hold and open the fans, classic moves, flowing between transitions and an empowering group choreography.

  • How to hold and open silk fans
  • Classic Silk fan moves
  • Fan transitions
  • Choreography with Silks

Silk fans are provided for the workshops.

Silks For Burlesque

Time: 1:15pm - 2:45pm

The perfect follow up workshop after the Beginners Silks Workshop. In this class we will explore unconventional ways to work with silk fans and how they can be a versatile tool that adds to the tease element in a Burlesque routine. We explore how we can play with silks closed & open, classic & neo grip and how to be dynamic with fast & slow movements to build suspense and momentum in a routine.

What this workshop covers:

  • Conceal and reveal with silks
  • Dynamic movements
  • How to build suspense
  • Use silks in a unconventional way
  • Classic and Neo grip

Silk Fans are provided for the workshops.

My Misson

The thing that I have always loved about Burlesque is that it has been a safe space for me to explore my creativity, my body and sexuality. I love providing that feeling for others, and so being able to share this time with you feels so special to me. My workshops are open to all genders, bodies, identities, individuals of all backgrounds, skill levels and are sex positive. Ultimately my aim is to empower you and to hype you in the celebration of who you are, through the art of Burlesque.

What to wear and bring

It’s important to me that you feel confident and sexy during my workshops, so wear clothing that is comfortable, easy to move in and makes you feel empowered. Often people wear leggings, crops, sports bras, singlets or shorts. For shoes you can wear heels, jazz shoes, sneakers, flat dance shoes or you can do barefoot. Please bring knee pads if we are doing floor work together. Don’t forget your water and if you want to bring a notepad and pen to take notes you’re more than welcome.

I would like to acknowledge that I live, work and play on the lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land and recognise their continued connection with the land in which I operate. I pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
